The hunter bows before the altar, and through the drifting incense, his stern face takes on an almost otherworldly quality. The smoke slowly rises toward the sky, as if carrying his silent prayer with it. Behind him lies the forest, with its dark depths and mysteries, while here, by the altar’s fire, the man pauses for a moment before the Creator, upon Whom all living things depend.
